Abstract

An air conditioning system has a vapor compression loop including a compressor, an expansion device, a first heat exchanger, and a second heat exchanger and a working fluid is configured to circulate within the vapor compression loop. An energy storage device is selectively operable to supply power to the air conditioning system and a thermal management system associated with the energy storage device. During operation of the vapor compression loop in a first mode, the thermal management system is thermally couplable to the vapor compression loop via a first bypass flow path and during operation of the vapor compression loop in a second mode, the thermal management system is thermally couplable to the vapor compression loop via a second bypass flow path.
