Abstract
A valve includes an inlet, an annular seat, a poppet having an annular body having an inner volume and an annular seat facing surface selectively contactable with the annular seat, and at least one alignment pin extending inwardly of the inner volume of the poppet, an outlet fluidly connectable to the inlet; and an alignment tube disposed between the outlet and the inlet, the alignment tube extending inwardly of the inner volume of the poppet and including an alignment feature thereon configured to at least partially receive the alignment pin therein when the annular seat facing surface of the poppet is retracted from the seat.
Claims20
A valve, comprising:
- a valve body having a bore extending therethrough having a surrounding circumferential wall, the central bore forming an inlet and an outlet;
- a pedestal located in the central bore, the pedestal including;
- a pedestal base contacting the surrounding circumferential wall of the bore;
- a poppet support extending from the pedestal base and terminating at an annular wall distal to the pedestal base, the poppet support including a poppet support recess extending inwardly of the poppet support from the annular wall;
- at least one flow passage extending through the pedestal base and spaced from the poppet support;
- a poppet supported on the poppet support and disposed between the pedestal base and the inlet, the poppet including a poppet support receiving recess therein having a poppet support receiving recess surrounding wall, at least a portion of the poppet support recess surrounding wall extending around the poppet support;
- and
- a seat disposed in the bore between at least a portion of the poppet and the inlet.
A sealing assembly for a valve, comprising:
- a pedestal located in the central bore, the pedestal including;
- a pedestal base contacting the surrounding circumferential wall of the bore;
- a poppet support extending from the pedestal base and terminating at an annular wall distal to the pedestal base, the poppet support including a poppet support recess extending inwardly of the poppet support from the annular wall;
- at least one flow passage extending through the pedestal base and spaced from the poppet support;
- a poppet reciprocatably supported on the poppet support, the poppet including a poppet support receiving recess therein having a poppet support receiving recess surrounding wall, at least a portion of the poppet support recess surrounding wall extending around the poppet support;
- and
- a seat contactable by the poppet.
A support member for supporting a valve poppet moveable on the support member, comprising:
- a pedestal located in the central bore, the pedestal including;
- a pedestal base having a perimeter and a central hub, the perimeter spaced from the central hub;
- a poppet support extending from the central hub and terminating at an annular wall distal to the pedestal base, the poppet support including a poppet support recess extending inwardly of the poppet support from the annular wall;
- and
- a vent passage extending from the poppet support recess through the poppet support and the hub of the pedestal base.
