Abstract
A clutch for a differential lock mechanism including a clutch collar configured to be disposed on a shaft extending in an axial direction so as to be movable along the axial direction. The clutch including a clutch collar actuator mechanism for actuating the clutch collar to move along the axial direction. The clutch collar actuator mechanism includes an actuator piston configured to be disposed around the shaft and to move along the axial direction of the shaft. The actuator piston is fixed relative to the clutch collar so as to move together with the clutch collar.
Claims1
A clutch for a differential lock mechanism, the clutch comprising:
- a clutch collar configured to be disposed on a shaft extending in an axial direction, the clutch collar being movable along the axial direction and including an outer peripheral surface having a first step, a second step spaced apart from the first step in the axial direction, and an intermediate outer peripheral surface portion extending between the first step and the second step;
- a spacer ring disposed on the clutch collar and abutting the first step;
- a retaining ring securing the spacer ring relative to the clutch collar;
- and
- an actuator piston disposed radially outward of the clutch collar and movable along the axial direction, the actuator piston including at least one engaging protrusion protruding radially inward toward the clutch collar;
- wherein the spacer ring, the intermediate outer peripheral surface portion, and the second step define a circumferential groove in which the at least one engaging protrusion is at least partially received;
- wherein the at least one engaging protrusion is positioned to engage the second step to urge the clutch collar in a first axial direction;
- and
- wherein the at least one engaging protrusion is positioned to engage the spacer ring to urge the clutch collar in a second axial direction opposite the first axial direction.
