Abstract
A hydraulic actuator for a dog clutch includes a housing extending along a reference axis and defining at least one closed inner volume, a rod extending along the reference axis, engaging in a slidable manner the housing, and configured to be operatively connected the actuation member of the dog clutch assembly, a first piston cooperating in a fluid tight and slidable manner with the housing and configured to define a first variable volume chamber, a second piston housed the housing and configured to define a second variable volume chamber, a septum fluidly separating the first chamber from the second chamber. The first piston and the second piston are slidably carried by the rod and configured to push the rod in two opposite directions.
Claims15
A hydraulic actuator for a negative dog clutch assembly of a transmission assembly of a work vehicle, the hydraulic actuator comprising:
- a housing extending along a reference axis and defining at least a closed inner volume,
- a rod extending along the reference axis and engaging the housing in a slidable manner, wherein the rod is configured to be operatively connected to an actuation member of the dog clutch assembly,
- a first piston housed within the closed inner volume and cooperating in a fluid tight and slidable manner with the housing, wherein the first piston is configured to define at least a first variable volume chamber within the closed inner volume,
- a second piston housed within the closed inner volume and cooperating in a fluid tight and slidable manner with the housing, wherein the second piston is configured to define at least a second variable volume chamber within the closed inner volume fluidly separated from the first variable volume chamber, wherein,
- the rod is movable between a first position in which the rod is configured to maintain the dog clutch assembly disengaged, a second position in which the rod is configured to arrange the dog clutch assembly in a first engaged position, and a third position in which the rod is configured to arrange the dog clutch assembly in a second engaged position,
- the housing comprises a septum fluidly separating the first variable volume chamber from the second variable volume chamber and engaged in a slidable manner by the rod,
- the first piston and the second piston are slidably carried by the rod and are arranged on opposite sides of said septum,
- the first piston is configured to push the rod in a first direction parallel to the reference axis, in order to arrange the rod in the second position, and
- the second piston is configured to push the rod in a second direction parallel to the reference axis and opposite to the first direction, in order to arrange the rod in the third position.
