Abstract
Various examples are provided related to reciprocating oscillating energy harvesters. In one example, a reciprocating oscillating energy harvester includes an energy converter; a tether engaged with the energy converter; and a drag body coupled to an end of the tether. The drag body can adjust force applied to the tether by changing surface area or profile of the drag body within a fluid flow, where the energy converter oscillates in response to variation of the surface area or profile of the drag body. The energy harvester can include a second drag body coupled to the tether.

A reciprocating oscillating energy harvester, comprising:
- an energy converter;
- a tether engaged with the energy converter;
- and
- a drag body coupled to an end of the tether, the drag body configured to adjust force applied to the tether by changing surface area or profile of the drag body within a fluid flow, where the energy converter oscillates in response to variation of the surface area or profile of the drag body.
