A cylinder block of an internal combustion engine includes: a cylinder sleeve cast into an outer periphery of a cylinder; a cylinder barrel cast around an outer periphery of the cylinder sleeve; a water jacket formed outside the cylinder barrel; and bolt holes for at least four stud bolts disposed to surround the cylinder, in which, in the cylinder barrel, when seen in an axial direction of the cylinder, a wall thickness outside a chord parallel to a crankshaft at a predetermined distance from a center of the cylinder is set greater than a wall thickness outside a chord perpendicular to a crankshaft at a predetermined distance from the center of the cylinder.
