Abstract
A tensioning wire attachment system includes a tensioning device, which includes a first collar connectable to a threaded stud. The threaded stud is connectable to a mounting base via a tubular body. The mounting base includes a mounting base aperture. The system also includes a first gripping wedge secured within the first collar via an inside thread of the first collar. The first gripping wedge secures a first wire. The system also includes a single point mounting collar. The mounting collar is configured for rotational movement of the tubular body within via a notch provided in an end of the tubular body. The mounting collar is configured for threading attachment to the mounting base via the mounting base aperture.
Claims20
A mounting assembly for a tensioner and wire attachment system, the mounting assembly comprising:
- a mounting base including a mounting base aperture sized to allow a fastener to pass through the aperture, the fastener configured for securing the mounting base to a mounting surface;
- a tubular body having a first end and a second end, the second end including a notch and configured to align with the fastener;
- and
- a mounting collar configured for attachment to the mounting base, the mounting collar configured to allow the tubular body to pass through an aperture of the mounting collar;
- wherein the notch of the second end of the tubular body is dimensioned and positioned to provide clearance for a tightening tool to pass through the notch and through the mounting collar to access a head of the fastener, thereby allowing the fastener to be tightened to the mounting surface without disassembly of the mounting collar from the tubular body.
A tensioner and wire attachment system comprising:
- a tensioning device, including:
- a collar connectable to a first end of a stud;
- a gripping wedge secured within the collar, the gripping wedge configured to secure a wire within the collar;
- and
- a mounting assembly connectable to a second end of the stud, the mounting assembly comprising:
- a mounting base including a mounting base aperture sized to allow a fastener to pass through the aperture, the fastener configured for securing the mounting base to a mounting surface;
- a tubular body having a first end and a second end, the second end including a notch and configured to align with the fastener;
- and
- a mounting collar configured for attachment to the mounting base, the mounting collar configured to allow the tubular body to pass through an aperture of the mounting collar;
A method of securing a mounting assembly for a tensioner and wire attachment system to a mounting surface, the method comprising:
- providing the mounting assembly, the mounting assembly comprising:
- a mounting base including a mounting base aperture sized to allow a fastener to pass through the aperture, the fastener configured for securing the mounting base to the mounting surface;
- a tubular body having a first end and a second end, the second end including a notch and configured to align with the fastener;
- and
- a mounting collar configured for attachment to the mounting base, the mounting collar configured to allow the tubular body to pass through an aperture of the mounting collar;
- passing a tightening tool through the notch and through the mounting collar to access a head of the fastener;
- and
- using the tightening tool, tightening the fastener to the mounting surface without disassembling the mounting collar from the tubular body.
