Abstract
A flooring assembly includes a sub structure with spaced apart joists. At least one of the joists has a joist cavity. A mount has an extension and a mounting portion attached to the extension. The extension is engaged at least partially within the joist cavity, with the mounting portion outside the joist cavity, for attachment of an upright structure to the mounting portion.

A flooring assembly comprising:
- a sub structure comprising a plurality of spaced apart joists, at least one of the joists having a joist cavity;
- a mount having an extension and a mounting portion attached to the extension;
- wherein the extension is engaged at least partially within the joist cavity, with the mounting portion arranged for attachment of an upright structure to the mounting portion.
A method of mounting an upright structure to a flooring assembly comprising the steps of:
- providing a sub structure comprising a plurality of spaced apart joists, at least one of the joists having a joist cavity;
- providing a mount having an extension and a mounting portion attached to the extension;
- engaging the extension at least partially within the joist cavity, with the mounting portion outside the joist cavity;
- attaching an upright structure to the mounting portion.
