Abstract
A method for melting an iron source includes: feeding an iron source into an electric furnace and generating an arc to melt the iron source, wherein one or more first iron source and one or more second iron source are fed as the iron source, the first iron source has a content of 50.0% by mass or more of Fe, and a total content of 0.4% by mass or more of Si and Al, the second iron source has a content of 50.0% by mass or more of Fe, and a total content of less than 0.4% by mass of Si and Al, and the iron source is fed in a manner so as to satisfy 0<(WA1−WA2)/WT.
Claims8
A method for melting an iron source using an electric furnace, the method comprising:
- feeding the iron source into the electric furnace and generating an arc within the electric furnace to melt the iron source, wherein
- one or more first iron source and one or more second iron source are fed as the iron source,
- the first iron source has a content of 50.0% by mass or more of Fe, and a total content of 0.4% by mass or more of Si and Al,
- the second iron source has a content of 50.0% by mass or more of Fe, and a total content of less than 0.4% by mass of Si and Al, and
- the iron source is fed in a manner so as to satisfy relationship (1) below:

- WA1:
- weight (t) of the first iron source fed in first half of the feeding;
- first half of the feeding:
- until 50% of total weight (t) of the iron source has been fed;
- WA2:
- weight (t) of the first iron source fed in latter half of the feeding;
- WT:
- total weight (t) of the iron source fed in the feeding.
