Abstract
Provided are methods for determining responsiveness to immune checkpoint inhibition. The methods involve determining a mitochondrial haplogroup for an individual who has been diagnosed with cancer. Based on the determination of the mitochondrial haplogroup, an immune checkpoint inhibition therapy can be selected for the individual with improved likelihood of efficacy compared to selection of an immune checkpoint inhibition therapy selected without the mitochondrial haplogroup analysis. The mitochondrial haplogroup analysis can be performed prior to initiating an immune checkpoint therapy.
Claims11
A method comprising determining whether or not an individual is likely to respond to treatment with one or more immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI's) based on a determination of a mitochondrial haplogroup for the individual, and wherein the haplogroup of the individual is determined prior to receiving immune checkpoint inhibition.
