Abstract
A method of removing colored contaminants from a polymer solution. The method includes adding to the polymer solution a “getter” compound or composition in an amount and for a time and at a temperature wherein at least a portion of a colored contaminant in the solution is agglomerated and/or precipitated, thereby yielding a treated solution. The treated solution may then optionally be mechanically filtered to remove the agglomerated and/or precipitated contaminants.
