A device for polynucleotide synthesis, the device comprising:
- a base layer comprising silicon;
- a top layer comprising an oxide, wherein the top layer is configured to support the attachment of a biomolecule;
- and
- an intermediate layer comprising a conductive material, wherein the intermediate layer is disposed between the base layer and the top layer;
- wherein the intermediate layer is in fluid communication with an exterior of the device.
A device for polynucleotide synthesis, the device comprising:
- a base layer comprising silicon;
- a top layer comprising a conductive material;
- and
- an intermediate layer comprising an oxide, wherein the intermediate layer is configured to support the attachment of a biomolecule, and the intermediate layer is disposed between the base layer and the top layer;
- wherein the intermediate layer is in fluid communication with an exterior of the device.
A device for polynucleotide synthesis, the device comprising:
- a base layer comprising silicon;
- a top layer comprising a first electrode;
- an intermediate layer comprising an oxide, wherein the intermediate layer is configured to support the attachment of a biomolecule, and the intermediate layer is disposed between the base layer and the top layer;
- and
- a first layer comprising a second electrode, wherein the first layer is disposed between the base layer and the top layer;
- wherein the intermediate layer is in fluid communication with an exterior of the device.
