Abstract
The present disclosure relates to CHA framework zeolite materials and to synthesis mixtures and methods for producing such materials using oxidized disulfide oil. A homogeneous aqueous mixture is provided comprising a silica source, a framework metal oxide source selected from compounds of Al, Fe, B, or Ga, an alkali metal source, optional structure directing agent, water, and an effective amount of water-soluble oxidized disulfide oil (ODSO). CHA framework zeolite materials comprising silica and a framework metal oxide are synthesized from the mixture and exhibit characteristic X-ray powder diffraction patterns.
Claims15
A zeolite comprising CHA type framework,
- wherein the zeolite has a characteristic X-ray powder diffraction pattern before calcination for removal of a structure directing agent containing at least following diffraction peaks (in degrees 2 theta (+/−0.2) having relative intensities shown in parenthesis) at:
- 9.66 (VS), 16.29 (S), 20.96 (S), 25.10 (M) and 31.12 (M);
- where the relative intensity is based on a strongest line in the X-ray pattern which is assigned a value of 100 and (W) [weak] is less than 20;
- (M) [medium] is between 20 and 50;
- (S) [strong] is between 50 and 80;
- and (VS) [very strong) is between 80 and 100];
- and
- wherein the structure directing agent comprises trimethyladamantylammonium cations.
An as-made CHA framework zeolite comprising a structure directing agent within pores thereof, the zeolite having a characteristic X-ray powder diffraction pattern prior to calcination in which the 100% relative intensity peak is at approximately 9.6° 2 theta (±0.2°), wherein the relative intensity is based on a strongest line in the X-ray pattern which is assigned a value of 100.
A homogeneous aqueous mixture for synthesis of CHA framework crystalline material, the mixture comprising:
- a silica source;
- a framework metal oxide source selected from compounds of Al, Fe, B and Ga;
- an alkali metal source;
- an optional structure directing agent;
- water;
- and an effective amount of water-soluble oxidized disulfide oil (ODSO), wherein the mass ratio of ODSO to alkali metal from the alkali metal source is in the range of about 0.1 to about 7.5.
