Abstract
The present disclosure relates to lifting and hoisting devices and systems for one or more objects to be lifted and transported. In some embodiments, the systems comprise rigid members that are operable to lift objects while maintaining the objects in a desired spaced apart arrangement. Supporting and connecting elements are provided that are suited for lifting relatively heavy objects that may be devoid of dedicated rigid contact points for lifting. In various embodiments a system is provided and is disposable into and out of an expanded state for operation and a folded state for storage and transport.
Claims20
A lifting device, comprising:
- a frame;
- a lifting platform pivotally connected to the frame, the lifting platform comprising at least one sidebar with a cavity;
- and
- a supporting member operable to be provided in a diagonal orientation relative to the lifting platform and to the frame, the supporting member being operable to at least partially enable a predetermined angular position of the lifting platform relative to the frame, and the supporting member interconnecting the lifting platform and the frame;
- wherein the lifting platform extends perpendicular to the frame when the lifting device is in an expanded state, and wherein the lifting platform is parallel to the frame when the lifting apparatus is in a folded state;
- and
- wherein the supporting member and the frame are at least partially concealed within the cavity of the sidebar of the lifting platform when the lifting device is in the folded state.
A lifting system, comprising
- a plurality of lifting devices each one comprising:
- a frame comprising at least one attachment mechanism on an exterior surface of the frame;
- one or more lifting platforms pivotally connected to the frame, wherein the one or more lifting platforms are perpendicular to the frame when the lifting apparatus is in an expanded state, and wherein the one or more lifting platforms are parallel to the frame when the lifting apparatus is in a folded state;
- and
- one or more supporting members interconnecting the one or more lifting platforms and the frame,
- wherein each of the plurality of lifting devices is connected to an adjacent one of the plurality of lifting devices through the at least one attachment mechanisms;
- wherein the one or more lifting platforms are positioned at an approximately equal height when the one or more lifting platforms are attached;
- and
- wherein the one or more lifting platforms are spaced apart from lifting platforms of an adjacent lifting device of the plurality in a longitudinal dimension when the one or more lifting platforms are attached.
A spreader bar lifting system for lifting a plurality of portable toilets, the spreader bar lifting system comprising:
- a frame, comprising a plurality of beams;
- and
- one or more attachment mechanisms, wherein each of the one or more attachment mechanisms is removably connected to one of the plurality of beams;
- and
- wherein at least some of the plurality of portable toilets are attached to the frame via the one or more attachment mechanisms when the plurality of portable toilets are installed.
