Abstract

An anti-theft device for a package includes a housing having a main body with a transverse groove configured to receive a portion of the package, an upper cover, a lower cover, and a device hook hole extending through the housing. The device further includes at least one package-penetrating locking post movable relative to the housing to extend across the transverse groove and through an opening in the package to secure the package to the housing. In some embodiments, the device includes a lock body and a plurality of locking posts. In other embodiments, the device includes only a single package-penetrating locking post. The device can further include a lock cylinder configured to releasably engage the locking post and one or more electronic security components, including a radio-frequency security component, a radio-frequency identification component, an acousto-magnetic coil, or a magnetic rod coil.
