Abstract

A method for adaptive cruise control of a motor vehicle when the motor vehicle is approaching an unregulated intersection. The method includes capturing, via ADAS sensors of the motor vehicle during an approach of the motor vehicle to an unregulated intersection, external surroundings data of the motor vehicle; performing a geometric calculation of a field of view of the ADAS sensors in a direction towards the unregulated intersection based on the captured external surroundings data and a current position of the motor vehicle; calculating, based on the geometric calculation of the field of view and an intended target path of the motor vehicle, a speed plan for the motor vehicle on the intended target path; and regulating the speed of the motor vehicle based on the calculated speed plan.
