Abstract
Devices, systems and processes for the detection of unsafe cabin conditions that provides a safer passenger experience in autonomous vehicles are described. One example method for enhancing passenger safety includes capturing at least a set of images of one or more passengers in the vehicle, determining, based on the set of images, the occurrence of an unsafe activity in an interior of the vehicle, performing, using a neural network, a classification of the unsafe activity, and performing, based on the classification, one or more responsive actions.
Claims20
A system for enhancing passenger safety in a vehicle, comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- an internal sensor system coupled to the processor and configured to capture at least a first set of images and a second set of images of one or more passengers in the vehicle, the second set of images captured after the first set of images,
- wherein the processor is configured to:
- determine, based on the first set of images, an occurrence of an initial activity associated with an unsafe activity;
- perform, based on the initial activity, a software update for software associated with at least one component of the internal sensor system;
- determine, based on the second set of images, an occurrence of the unsafe activity;
- perform, using a neural network, a classification of the unsafe activity;
- and
- perform, based on the classification, one or more responsive actions.
A method for enhancing passenger safety in a vehicle, comprising:
- capturing, by an internal sensor system, at least a first set of images and a second set of images of one or more passengers in the vehicle, the second set of images captured after the first set of images;
- determining, based on the first set of images, an occurrence of an initial activity associated with an unsafe activity;
- performing, based on the initial activity, a software update for software associated with at least one component of the internal sensor system;
- determining, based on the second set of images, an occurrence of the unsafe activity in a cabin of the vehicle;
- performing, using a neural network, a classification of the unsafe activity, wherein the unsafe activity is one of a predetermined number of unsafe activities;
- and
- performing, based on the classification, one or more responsive actions.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable media having executable instructions stored thereon that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
- obtaining a first set of images and a second set of images of one or more passengers in a vehicle, wherein the first set of images and the second set of images are captured by an internal sensor system, and wherein the second set of images is captured after the first set of images;
- determining, based on the first set of images, an occurrence of an initial activity associated with an unsafe activity;
- performing, based on the initial activity, a software update for software associated with at least one component of the internal sensor system;
- determining, based on the second set of images, an occurrence of the unsafe activity in a cabin of the vehicle;
- performing, using a neural network, a classification of the unsafe activity, wherein the unsafe activity is one of a predetermined number of unsafe activities;
- and
- performing, based on the classification, one or more responsive actions.
