A vehicle control system for providing a height adjustment function of a rear seat footrest includes: an opening/closing sensor configured to sense whether a rear door is opened or closed, a seating sensor configured to sense whether a rear seat is occupied, a seat sensor configured to sense a position and angle of a front seat located in front of the rear seat, a user input assembly configured to receive an input from an occupant, a controller connected to the opening/closing sensor, the seating sensor, the seat sensor, and the user input unit, the controller being configured to generate and transmit a control signal, and a driver configured to drive the rear seat footrest based on the control signal. The vehicle control system may provide a height adjustment function for the rear footrest for the comfort of occupants seated in the rear seats of the vehicle.
