Liquid filling method and liquid discharge head

A method for filling a liquid discharge head including:

• a recording element substrate configured to discharge a liquid;
• a common supply liquid chamber configured to supply the liquid to the recording element substrate;
• a first introduction channel configured to introduce the liquid into the common supply liquid chamber;
• a first discharge port configured to discharge the liquid from the common supply liquid chamber;
• a common collection liquid chamber configured to collect the liquid from the recording element substrate;
• a second introduction channel configured to introduce the liquid into the common collection liquid chamber;
• a second discharge port configured to discharge the liquid from the common collection liquid chamber;
• and
• a discharge channel configured to connect with one of the first discharge port and the second discharge port,
• the method comprising introducing the liquid from the first introduction channel into the common supply liquid chamber in a state where the discharge channel connects with the first discharge port.

A liquid discharge head comprising:

• a recording element substrate configured to discharge a liquid;
• a common supply liquid chamber configured to supply the liquid to the recording element substrate;
• a first introduction channel configured to introduce the liquid into the common supply liquid chamber;
• a first discharge port configured to discharge the liquid from the common supply liquid chamber;
• a common collection liquid chamber configured to collect the liquid from the recording element substrate;
• a second introduction channel configured to introduce the liquid into the common collection liquid chamber;
• a second discharge port configured to discharge the liquid from the common collection liquid chamber;
• and
• a discharge channel configured to connect with one of the first discharge port and the second discharge port.
