Docking Accessory for Mobile Robots

A docking accessory, comprising:

• a base configured for connection with a chassis of a mobile robot;
• a coupling device disposed on the base, the coupling device having first and second docking surfaces movable between (i) a retracted configuration having a first distance between the first and second docking surfaces, and (ii) an extended configuration having a second distance between the first and second docking surfaces, the second distance being greater than the first distance;
• and
• a communications interface configured to communicatively connect the coupling device with a processor.

A kit, comprising:

• a docking accessory including:
• a base for connection with a chassis of a mobile robot;
• and
• a coupling device extending from the base, the coupling device having first and second docking surfaces movable between (i) a retracted configuration having a first distance between the first and second docking surfaces, and (ii) an extended configuration having a second distance between the first and second docking surfaces, the second distance being greater than the first distance;
• and
• a dock including a recess configured to receive the coupling device, the recess defining opposing walls configured to engage the first and second docking surfaces.
