Oscillating power tool

An oscillating power tool comprising:

• an outer housing having a head portion and a handle portion extending therefrom;
• an inner housing positioned within the outer housing, the inner housing including a motor case and a gear case;
• a motor supported within the motor case;
• a drive mechanism supported by the gear case, the drive mechanism including an output shaft that is rotational in an oscillating manner and that defines an output axis;
• and
• a plurality of damping elements positioned between the gear case and the outer housing,
• wherein each of the damping elements in the plurality of damping elements is positioned between a mounting recess defined by the gear case and a corresponding mounting recess defined in an inner surface of the outer housing, and
• wherein the plurality of damping elements support the gear case within the outer housing and allows the inner housing to move relative to the outer housing.

An oscillating power tool comprising:

• an outer housing having a head portion and a handle portion extending therefrom;
• an inner housing positioned within the outer housing, the inner housing including a motor case and a gear case, the gear case having a first portion and a second portion;
• a motor supported within the motor case;
• and
• a drive mechanism supported by the gear case, the drive mechanism including an output shaft that is rotational in an oscillating manner and that defines an output axis,
• wherein the second portion of the gear case supports the output shaft,
• wherein the first portion of the gear case has a recess configured to receive a first elastic member,
• wherein the second portion of the gear case has a groove configured to receive at least a portion of a second elastic member.
