Electric tool

An electric tool comprising:

• a motor;
• a rotatable final output shaft;
• a power transmission mechanism operably coupled with the motor and configured to transmit a rotational driving force of the motor to the final output shaft;
• a resin housing including a motor containing portion, a battery holding portion, and a handle portion, the motor containing portion having a tubular shape extending in a front-rear direction and containing the motor therein, the battery holding portion holding a detachable battery serving as a power source of the motor, the handle portion extending elongatedly in a direction generally orthogonal to the front-rear direction between the motor containing portion and the battery holding portion, the front-rear direction being defined to be an axial direction of the final output shaft and a front side and a rear side being defined to a side in the front-rear direction on which the final output shaft is located and a side opposite from the final output shaft, respectively;
• and
• a metallic casing located on the front side of the motor containing portion, the metallic casing including a tubular portion and a protrusion portion, the tubular portion having a tubular shape extending in the front-rear direction in communication with an inside of the motor containing portion, the tubular portion containing a part of the final output shaft and at least a part of the power transmission mechanism therein, the tubular portion being coupled with the motor containing portion by threaded joining, the protrusion portion protruding from the tubular portion radially outward,
• wherein the protrusion portion includes a second engagement portion engaged with a first engagement portion of the resin housing on the front side with respect to a coupling position between the motor containing portion and the tubular portion, a up-down direction being defined to be a direction orthogonal to the front-rear direction and generally parallel with a longitudinal direction of the handle portion and an upper side and a lower side being defined to be a side in the up-down direction on which the motor containing portion is located and a side in the up-down direction on which the battery holding portion is located, respectively, the second engagement portion being located on the lower side with respect to the first engagement portion.
