Abstract

A power tool includes a power tool housing including a fluid inlet and a discharge outlet. A motor is supported by the power tool housing. A tool is configured to be moved relative to the housing by the motor. A fan is configured to be rotated by the motor, such that a fluid flow with debris generated by movement of the tool is drawn into the fluid inlet and through the discharge outlet. A filter is removably attached to the power tool housing. The filter includes a filter media configured to separate the debris from the flow of fluid. The filter media includes a collection container configured to store the debris. The filter also includes an opening in the filter media through which the flow of fluid with the debris enters the collection container, and a valve that is moveable between a closed position and an open position.

Dependent claims

A collection receptacle for collecting workpiece particles, the collection receptacle configured for coupling the collection receptacle to a handheld power tool, the collection receptacle comprising:

a receptacle shell having an inlet port provided on a first side of the receptacle shell and an outlet provided on a second side of the receptacle shell, the receptacle shell delimiting a collection volume of the collection receptacle, the inlet port configured for receiving a mixture of air and workpiece particles, the outlet configured for allowing air to leave the collection volume delimited by the receptacle shell, and
a closure mechanism comprising a closure element, the closure element extending in a plane and being supported on the receptacle shell by a guide for selectively opening and closing the inlet port by moving the closure element within the plane, and/or
a connection mechanism configured for connecting the inlet port to the handheld power tool, wherein the connection mechanism comprises a connection ring arranged coaxially to the inlet port and rotatably supported on the receptacle shell, wherein an engagement feature is positioned on an inside of the connection ring, the engagement feature configured for engaging a connection feature of the handheld power tool.
