Continuous steel casting mold and continuous steel casting method

A continuous steel casting mold comprising:

• a mold plate comprising a copper alloy, the mold plate having a front surface defining an inner wall surface of the mold, and a back surface defining cooling water channels;
• and
• a backup plate attached to the mold plate so as to cover the cooling water channels, wherein
• a region of the front surface of the mold plate including at least a meniscus has a plurality of recesses each defining a dissimilar material-filled portion in which the recess is filled with a dissimilar material having a thermal conductivity different from a thermal conductivity of the mold plate, and
• a total sectional area of the cooling water channels on the back surface of the mold plate in a range including the region having the dissimilar material-filled portions is smaller than a total sectional area of the cooling water channels below the range.
