Abstract
A game system includes a first game apparatus and a second game apparatus. The first game apparatus receives input data of the second game apparatus, executes a game program using input data thereof and the received input data, generates a game image, sets a bit rate for encoding the generated game image based on the number of second game apparatuses, encodes the generated game image based on the set bit rate, and transmits the encoded game image to the second game apparatus. The second game apparatus receives the transmitted game image and shows the game image on a display thereof.
Claims20
A game system comprising:
- a first game apparatus comprising
- one or more processors and/or processing circuits, and
- one or more memories storing instructions that cause the one or more processors to perform first operations comprising
- receiving input data of asecond game apparatus,
- executing a game program using input data of the first game apparatus and the received input data,
- generating a game image,
- setting, based on the number of second game apparatuses, a bit rate for encoding the generated game image,
- encoding of the generated game image based on the set bit rate, and
- transmitting the encoded game image to the second game apparatus;
- and
- the second game apparatus comprising
- one or more processors, and
- one or more memories storing instructions that cause the one or more processors to perform second operations comprising
- receiving the transmitted game image,
- decoding the received game image, and
- displaying the decoded game image on a display of the second game apparatus.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media having stored therein instructions that cause one or more processors of a game apparatus to perform operations comprising:
- setting a bit rate for encoding based on the number of other game apparatuses;
- receiving input data of at least one of the other game apparatuses;
- executing a game program using input data of the game apparatus and the received input data;
- generating a game image;
- encoding of the generated game image based on the set bit rate;
- and
- transmitting the encoded game image to the at least one of the other game apparatuses.
A computer-implemented method for controlling a game apparatus, comprising:
- determining the number of other game apparatuses;
- setting a bit rate for encoding based on the determined number;
- receiving input data of at least one of the other game apparatuses;
- executing a game program using input data of the game apparatus and the received input data;
- generating a game image;
- encoding of the generated game image based on the set bit rate;
- and
- transmitting the encoded game image to the at least one of the other game apparatuses.
