Abstract
A device providing ocular photo-bio-stimulation therapy.
Claims40
An ocular light therapy system comprising:
- one or more ocular photo-bio-stimulation artificial light sources transmitting ocular photo-bio-stimulation light;
- one or more myopia control ophthalmic lenses for correcting myopic error of an individual, wherein the one or more myopia control ophthalmic lenses are one or more of, refractive, diffractive, refractive and diffractive, or Fresnel, ophthalmic spectacle lenses or contact lenses, or wherein the one or more myopia control ophthalmic lenses are myopia control ophthalmic spectacle lenses or contact lenses, and wherein the one or more myopia control ophthalmic lenses are physically integrated with the system or worn by the individual receiving the ocular light therapy;
- and
- one or more diffusers in optical communication with the one or more ocular photo-bio-stimulation artificial light sources to diffuse the ocular photo-bio-stimulation light, such that the diffuse ocular photo-bio-stimulation light enters an eye or eyes of the individual and strikes a retina or retinas of the eye or eyes of the individual, wherein the diffuse ocular photo-bio-stimulation light is within a light wavelength range of one or more of, 450 nm-540 nm, 530 nm+/−20 nm, or 600 nm-700 nm, and wherein repeated sessions of the ocular light therapy using the system are configured to cause a slowing or stoppage of myopia progression in the eye or eyes of the individual;
- and
- wherein the myopia control ophthalmic lenses comprise at least one peripheral zone surrounding a central zone, the peripheral zone providing for one or more of, a zone of defocus, lack of focus, alternating focus, light dispersion, or light diffusion.
