Cerebrospinal fluid shunt

A cerebrospinal fluid shunt, comprising:

• a shunt body including an inlet configured to be deployed in an intradural region of a patient to receive cerebrospinal fluid, wherein the shunt body includes an outlet configured to be deployed in a venous system of the patient, wherein the shunt body is configured to be deployed to extend through a dura, interstitial tissue, and a vein wall of the patient;
• and
• a seal in the cerebrospinal fluid shunt, wherein the seal is configured to regulate or prevent a flow of the cerebrospinal fluid out of the cerebrospinal fluid shunt,
• wherein the seal is configured to permit an elongated component to pass through the seal and into the shunt body, and
• wherein when the elongated component is removed from the seal, the seal is configured to close, thereby regulating or preventing the flow of the cerebrospinal fluid out of the cerebrospinal fluid shunt.

A system comprising:

• an elongated component;
• and
• a cerebrospinal fluid shunt comprising a body including an outlet configured to be deployed in a patient's venous system and a shunt head including an inlet configured to be deployed at least partially in an intradural region of the patient to receive cerebrospinal fluid,
• wherein the shunt head is configured to dilate tissues during deployment of the cerebrospinal fluid shunt,
• wherein the elongated component is configured to extend through the shunt head.
