A method of making a steerable sheath assembly includes disposing at least one tubular member alongside an inner sleeve, each tubular member of the at least one tubular member having a core wire disposed therein; disposing a reinforcing braid over the inner sleeve and the at least one tubular member; disposing an outer sleeve over the reinforcing braid; proximally withdrawing the core wire only partially from its respective tubular member; and overmolding a proximal hub structure onto the outer sleeve or onto the outer sleeve and a proximal portion of each tubular member. The core wire of each tubular member or the proximal portion of each tubular member extends through a distal portion of the proximal hub structure to an exterior of the proximal hub structure at a location distal of a proximal end of the proximal hub structure.
