Neonatal flexible and hybrid medical tubes

A breathing tube configured to deliver breathing gases to a neonate positioned within an incubator, the breathing tube comprising:

• a first segment configured for use outside an incubator;
• a second segment configured for use inside the incubator, the second segment being shorter than the first segment such that the first segment is more susceptible than the second segment to oscillations during gas flow through the breathing tube;
• an intermediate connector coupling the first segment to the second segment to form a single conduit for the gas flow;
• and
• a mesh sheath overlaying the first segment and configured to dampen the oscillations of the first segment during the gas flow.

A breathing tube configured to deliver breathing gases to a neonate positioned within an incubator, the breathing tube comprising:

• a first segment configured for use outside an incubator, the first segment having a first length;
• a second segment configured for use inside the incubator, the second segment having a second length that is shorter than the first length;
• an intermediate connector connecting the first segment to the second segment such that the first segment, the second segment and the intermediate connector form a conduit for gas flow through the breathing tube;
• and
• a sheath overlaying at least the first segment, the sheath being configured to dampen oscillations of the first segment during the gas flow.

A breathing tube comprising:

• a first segment adapted for use outside an incubator;
• a second segment adapted for use inside the incubator;
• an intermediate connector connecting the first segment to the second segment;
• and
• a sheath overlaying at least the first segment, the sheath configured to dampen oscillations during gas flow;
• wherein the second segment is shorter than the first segment.
