Method and apparatus for a urostomy utility pouch

A method of storing bodily fluid excreted from a patient's stoma, comprising steps of

• coupling a connector of a urostomy utility pouch with a corresponding skin patch surrounding the patient's stoma;
• capturing the bodily fluid with the connector;
• wicking the bodily fluid from the connector by an absorber of the urostomy utility pouch inside of a main body of the urostomy utility pouch;
• and
• stabilizing the bodily fluid excreted from the patient's stoma by the absorber.

A urostomy utility kit, comprising:

• a urostomy utility pouch removably coupled with a skin patch surrounding a patient's stoma, the urostomy utility pouch comprising:
• a main body having an exterior surface exposed to a surrounding environment and an interior surface opposite to the exterior surface and defining a chamber;
• an opening defined in the main body providing access to the chamber;
• a connector operably engaged with the main body inside of the opening and adapted to couple with the skin patch positioned about the patient's stoma;
• and
• an absorber operably engaged with the interior surface of the main body inside of the chamber;
• wherein the absorber is configured to wick bodily fluid from the patient's stoma while the main body is configured to hold the bodily fluid inside of the chamber;
• and
• a cap removably engageable with the urostomy utility pouch to prevent the bodily fluid from escaping the chamber.
