Tunable Fixation Device

A fixation device for repairing tissue comprising:

• a central assembly;
• at least one arm coupled to the central assembly, the arm comprising a first lateral portion and a second lateral portion on opposing sides of the arm, the first and second lateral portions being interdependently coupled such that:
• a force applied to the first lateral portion changes a size or shape of the first lateral portion and correspondingly changes a size or shape of the second lateral portion, and
• a force applied to the second lateral portion changes a size or shape of the second lateral portion and correspondingly changes a size or shape of the first lateral portion;
• and
• at least one gripping element moveable relative to the arm.

A fixation device for repairing tissue comprising:

• a central assembly;
• at least one arm coupled to the central assembly, the arm comprising a body portion and a deformable frame coupled to the body portion, the deformable frame having a first lateral side and a second lateral side on opposite sides of the body portion, a width of each of the first and second lateral sides extending laterally outwardly from a respective opposing side of the body portion, the deformable frame having a first state in which the width of the first lateral side is greater than the width of the second lateral side, and a second state in which the width of the second lateral side is greater than the width of the first lateral side, wherein the deformable frame is configured to transition between the first state and the second state in response to a force applied to one of the first lateral side or the second lateral side;
• and
• at least one gripping element moveable relative to the arm for capturing tissue therebetween.
