Abstract
Devices, systems, and methods for aiding insertion of a surgical implant by providing a threaded guide tube configured to engage a threaded surgical instrument such that an end-effector of a robot may provide force to drive the surgical implant into a patient. In addition, devices, systems, and methods relating to a dilator system for use with a robotic system that allows independent and separate control of tools within the dilator system.
Claims13
A dilator system comprising:
- a center pin connected to a center shaft;
- an inner dilator connected to a corkscrew rod and comprising a cannula configured to receive the center pin;
- an outer dilator connected to one or more handles and comprising a cannula configured to receive the inner dilator;
- and
- an outer sleeve comprising a cannula configured to receive the outer dilator.
2 more elements
A method of operating a dilator system comprising:
- attaching a cannulated drill over a center shaft of a dilator system at a proximal end of the center shaft such that the center shaft passes through the cannulated drill to advance a center pin of the dilator system;
- attaching the cannulated drill on a corkscrew rod grip to advance an inner dilator of the dilator system;
- and
- pushing one or more handles of the dilator system to advance an outer dilator of the dilator system.
