Abstract
A device includes at least one processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the at least one processor to: cause a robot or a robotic arm to orient a rod at an insertion point for insertion of the rod using a path in accordance with a surgical plan having information about the insertion point and the path of the rod through a surgical region, wherein the path is based on at least one anatomical element and at least one soft tissue portion identified in at least one image; cause the robot or the robotic arm to move the rod along the path while tracking the at least one soft tissue portion and the rod to monitor for unintended contact between the at least one soft tissue portion and the rod.
Claims20
A device, comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- memory including instructions, which when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
- receive a surgical plan having information about an insertion point and a path of a rod through a surgical region, wherein the path is based on at least one anatomical element and at least one soft tissue portion identified in at least one image depicting the surgical region;
- cause a robot to orient the rod at the insertion point and insert the rod at the insertion point using the path;
- cause the robot to move the rod along the path while tracking the at least one soft tissue portion and the rod to monitor for unintended contact between the at least one soft tissue portion and the rod.
A system, comprising:
- a robot to hold a rod;
- at least one processor;
- and
- memory including instructions, which when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
- receive a surgical plan having information about an insertion point and a path of the rod through a surgical region, wherein the path is based on at least one anatomical element and at least one soft tissue portion identified in at least one image depicting the surgical region;
- cause the robot to orient the rod at the insertion point using the path;
- and
- cause the robot to move the rod along the path while tracking the at least one soft tissue portion and the rod to monitor the at least one soft tissue portion for damage.
A device, comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- memory including instructions, which when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
- cause a robot or a robotic arm to orient a rod at an insertion point for subsequent insertion of the rod along a path in accordance with a surgical plan having information about the insertion point and the path of the rod to at least one tower through a surgical region, wherein the path is based on at least one anatomical element and at least one soft tissue portion identified in at least one image;
- cause the robot or the robotic arm to move the rod along the path while tracking the at least one soft tissue portion and the rod to monitor for unintended contact between the at least one soft tissue portion and the rod.
