A modular forceps system is disclosed for coupling interchangeable tool tips to reusable or disposable forceps handles. The system may include handles having a receiving portion and tool tips having corresponding mating components configured for connection within the receiving portion. Cooperative interface features between the handles and tool tips constrain relative movement in multiple degrees of freedom, including rotational, axial, and lateral directions. In certain embodiments, a locking mechanism, such as a spring-biased element engaging a corresponding recess, retains the tool tips within the handles. The mating components may include non-circular geometries to inhibit rotation and provide alignment. The handle may be formed from polymeric materials, while the tool tips may be formed from metal or other durable materials. The system enables a standardized interface for a variety of surgical or medical tool tips, reducing manufacturing cost, improving versatility, and facilitating disposable or semi-disposable instrument configurations.
