Neurovascular clot retrieving system

A device for removing material from a patient, the device comprising:

• a first array of engagement panels located at a first longitudinal location, wherein the first array of engagement panels is configured to extend towards a wall of a vessel from a first coiled eyelet when expanded within the vessel,
• a second array of engagement panels located at a second longitudinal location, wherein the second array of engagement panels is configured to extend towards the wall of the vessel from a second coiled eyelet when expanded within the vessel,
• an open space between the first array of engagement panels located at the first longitudinal location and the second array of engagement panels located at a second longitudinal location,
• wherein when expanded within the vessel, the first array of engagement panels is configured to be positioned distal to material and the second array of engagement panels is configured to be positioned within the material,
• wherein the first array of engagement panels and the second array of engagement panels are configured to control material removal by pinching or otherwise exerting forces between the first array of engagement panels and the second array of engagement panels.

A method for removing material from a patient, the method comprising:

• expanding a first array of engagement panels located at a first longitudinal location, wherein the first array of engagement panels is configured to extend towards a wall of a vessel from a first coiled eyelet when expanded within the vessel,
• expanding a second array of engagement panels located at a second longitudinal location, wherein the second array of engagement panels is configured to extend towards the wall of the vessel from a second coiled eyelet when expanded within the vessel, further comprising an open space between the first array of engagement panels located at the first longitudinal location and the second array of engagement panels located at a second longitudinal location,
• wherein when expanded within the vessel, the first array of engagement panels is positioned distal to material and the second array of engagement panels is positioned within the material,
• wherein the first array of engagement panels and the second array of engagement panels control material removal by pinching or otherwise exerting forces between the first array of engagement panels and the second array of engagement panels.
