Abstract
Systems and methods for monitoring a surgical tool are provided. A surgical tool may be advanced and rotated and sensor data from a sensor may be received. The sensor data may have a first value that is converted to a second value. A notification may be generated when the second value meets or exceeds a predetermined threshold.
Claims20
A system for monitoring a surgical tool, the system comprising a controller having a processor and a memory storing instructions for processing by the processor, wherein the instructions, when processed, cause the processor to:
- receive accelerometer data associated with a surgical tool;
- convert the accelerometer data to data associated with vibration of the surgical tool;
- compare the data associated with vibration of the surgical tool to a predetermined value;
- and
- generate a notification when the data associated with vibration of the surgical tool exceeds the predetermined value.
A method for monitoring a surgical tool, the method comprising:
- receiving accelerometer data associated with a surgical tool;
- converting the accelerometer data to data associated with vibration of the surgical tool;
- comparing the data associated with vibration of the surgical tool to a predetermined value;
- and
- generating a notification when the data associated with vibration of the surgical tool exceeds the predetermined value.
