Thru the scope tissue closure device

A tissue closure device comprising:

• a bushing having a distal end, a proximal end, and a lumen extending therethrough;
• a clip including at least a first arm and a second arm, wherein a proximal end region of the clip is configured to be coupled to the distal end of the bushing;
• a control wire configured to extend through the lumen of the bushing;
• a helical member configured to be coupled to a distal end of the control wire;
• an outer sleeve disposed about an outer diameter of the bushing, the outer sleeve configured to be advanced distally over the first arm and the second arm and retracted proximally to release the first arm and the second arm;
• and
• a spring disposed within the clip, the spring biasing the first arm and the second arm radially outward;
• wherein when the outer sleeve is advanced distally over the first arm and the second arm, the clip is held in a closed position;
• and
• wherein when the outer sleeve is retracted proximally to release the first arm and the second arm, the spring moves the clip to an open position.

A tissue closure device comprising:

• a bushing having a distal end, a proximal end, and a lumen extending therethrough;
• a clip including at least a first arm and a second arm coupled to the distal end of the bushing, wherein a proximal end of the first arm includes a first ledge and a proximal end of the second arm includes a second ledge, the first ledge and the second ledge positioned on an inside of the first arm and the second arm, respectively;
• a control wire configured to extend through the lumen of the bushing;
• a cam member coupled to a distal end of the control wire;
• a helical member configured to be coupled to the control wire via the cam member;
• and
• a locking component configured to be advanced distally through the lumen of the bushing and into engagement with the first ledge and the second ledge;
• wherein when the locking component engages the first ledge and the second ledge, the locking component holds the cam member in place and locks the first arm and the second arm in a closed position.
