Abstract
A system for performing a therapeutic and/or diagnostic function in a patient includes an implantable medical device configured for implantation in a patient, the implantable medical device including an electrode arrangement having a multiplicity of electrode poles for sensing an electrocardiogram signal. A processing arrangement is configured to process the electrocardiogram signal to derive information from the electrocardiogram signal relating to an ST segment subsequent to an R peak of a QRS complex and prior to a T wave in a cardiac cycle and to identify a myocardial infarction event based on the information.
Claims15
A system for performing a therapeutic and/or diagnostic function in a patient, comprising:
- an implantable medical device configured for implantation in a patient, the implantable medical device comprising an electrode arrangement having a multiplicity of electrode poles for sensing an electrocardiogram signal;
- and
- a processing arrangement for processing the electrocardiogram signal obtained by the electrode arrangement;
- wherein the processing arrangement is configured to process the electrocardiogram signal to derive information from the electrocardiogram signal relating to an ST segment subsequent to an R peak of a QRS complex and prior to a T wave in a cardiac cycle and to identify a myocardial infarction event based on the information.
A method for operating a system for performing a therapeutic and/or diagnostic function in a patient, the method comprising:
- providing an implantable medical device configured for implantation in a patient, the implantable medical device comprising an electrode arrangement having a multiplicity of electrode poles for sensing an electrocardiogram signal;
- and
- processing the electrocardiogram signal obtained by the electrode arrangement, including processing the electrocardiogram signal to derive information from the electrocardiogram signal relating to an ST segment subsequent to an R peak of a QRS complex and prior to a T wave in a cardiac cycle and identifying a myocardial infarction event based on the information.
