Abstract
Presented herein are techniques for monitoring (e.g., detecting, determining, tracking, calculating, etc.) a sociability index of a user (e.g., a recipient) of a “user device,” that is a device that is carried by, worn by, or implanted in, the user. The sociability index can include, but are not limited to, a listening situation of the user and/or an activity associated with the user in the listening situation.
Claims25
A method, comprising:
- receiving, via a processor, biometric data of a hearing device user;
- determining, via the processor, a sociability index based on the biometric data;
- and
- outputting, via the processor, a signal based on the sociability index.
One or more non-transitory computer readable storage media comprising instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
- receive biometric data from a sensor associated with a device configured to be worn by a user;
- determine, based on the biometric data, a conversational effort of the user;
- and
- determine a sociability index based on the conversational effort.

A device, comprising:
- a memory configured to store instructions;
- and
- one or more processors that, upon executing the instructions stored on the memory, are configured to:
- determine a first metric of a listening situation associated with a user of the device;
- determine a second metric of biometric data of the user in the listening situation;
- and
- determine a sociability index based on the first metric and the second metric.
