Abstract
Systems and method for monitoring patient physiological data are presented herein. In one embodiment, a physiological sensor and a mobile computing device can be connected via a cable or cables, and a processing board can be connected between the sensor and the mobile computing device to conduct advanced signal processing on the data received from the sensor before the data is transmitted for display on the mobile computing device.

A portable physiological monitoring system comprising:
- a noninvasive sensor configured to output one or more signals responsive to a physiological parameter of a user;
- and
- a processing board in data communication with the noninvasive sensor and a mobile device including a display, the processing board being physically separate from the mobile device, wherein the processing board comprises a memory unit storing instructions and is configured to execute the instructions to receive the one or more signals from the noninvasive sensor and process said one or more signals to generate one or more physiological parameter measurement values, thereby freeing up memory available to the mobile device;
- wherein the processing board is further configured to transmit the one or more physiological parameter measurement values to the mobile device;
- wherein one or more hardware processors of the mobile device are configured to execute an application, the application configured to execute commands to:
- generate a graphical user interface having a plurality of display portions;
- and
- display, in at least one of the plurality of display portions, a representation based on the one or more physiological parameter measurement values generated by the processing board.
