Abstract
A dishwasher includes a tub. The tub includes a sump and a sprayer. The dishwasher also includes a water supply coupled to the tub and configured to supply water into the tub, a circulation circuit coupled to the sump and the sprayer and configured to circulate the water from the sump to the sprayer, and a thermoelectric module system coupled to the circulation circuit. The thermoelectric module system includes a first side configured to draw heat from ambient air, and a second side configured to heat the water circulated in the circulation circuit with the heat from the ambient air.
Claims20
A dishwasher comprising:
- a tub comprising a sump and a sprayer;
- a water supply coupled to the tub and configured to supply water into the tub;
- a circulation circuit coupled to the sump and the sprayer and configured to circulate the water from the sump to the sprayer;
- and
- a thermoelectric module system coupled to the circulation circuit, the thermoelectric module system comprising:
- a first side configured to draw heat from ambient air;
- and
- a second side configured to heat the water circulated in the circulation circuit with the heat from the ambient air.
A method comprising:
- supplying water into a tub of a dishwasher using a water supply coupled to the tub, wherein the tub comprises a sump and a sprayer;
- circulating the water from the sump to the sprayer using a circulation circuit coupled to the sump and the sprayer;
- drawing heat from ambient air using a first side of a thermoelectric module system coupled to the circulation circuit;
- outputting the heat from the ambient air to the water circulated in the circulation circuit using a second side of the thermoelectric module system;
- and
- determining whether a temperature of the water is less than a target temperature.
A thermoelectric module system for a dishwasher, the thermoelectric module system comprising:
- a first side configured to draw heat from ambient air and water stored in a water tank of the dishwasher;
- and
- a second side configured to heat water circulated in a circulation circuit of the dishwasher with the heat from the ambient air and the water stored in the water tank.
