Abstract
A hand vacuum cleaner has a first stage air treatment chamber having a longitudinal axis extending centrally through the first stage air treatment chamber between a front end of the first stage air treatment chamber and a rear end of the first stage air treatment chamber; a second air treatment stage comprising a cyclone chamber positioned in the air flow path downstream from the first air treatment stage; a pre-motor filter positioned in the air flow path downstream from the second air treatment stage; a motor and fan assembly positioned in the air flow path downstream from the pre-motor filter, the motor having an axis or rotation; and, a handle having a first end provided on a rear end of the main body and a second distal end, wherein the longitudinal axis extends through the first end of the handle.
Claims19
A hand vacuum cleaner having a front end, a rear end, an upper end and a lower end, the hand vacuum cleaner comprising:
- an air flow path extending from a dirty air inlet, which is provided at the front end, to a clean air outlet;
- a first air treatment stage comprising a first stage air treatment chamber positioned in the air flow path downstream from the dirty air inlet, the first stage air treatment chamber having a longitudinal axis extending centrally through the first stage air treatment chamber between a front end of the first stage air treatment chamber and a rear end of the first stage air treatment chamber;
- a second air treatment stage comprising a cyclone chamber positioned in the air flow path downstream from the first air treatment stage;
- a pre-motor filter positioned in the air flow path downstream from the second air treatment stage;
- a main body that houses a motor and fan assembly, the motor and fan assembly is positioned in the air flow path downstream from the pre-motor filter, the motor having an axis or rotation;
- and,
- a handle having a first end provided on a rear end of the main body and a second distal end, wherein the longitudinal axis extends through the first end of the handle.
