Abstract

An article of footwear that includes a sole having midsole and an outsole attached to the midsole, the sole having a longitudinal axis and a lateral support member, a medial support member and a front support member that are independent from each other and combine to form a triangular contact region on a bottom surface of the sole, where the midsole is made of a material having different hardness values. The lateral support member includes a portion of the midsole and a portion of the outsole, where the portion of the midsole surrounds the portion of the outsole. The medial support member includes a portion of the midsole and a portion of the outsole, where the portion of the midsole surrounds the portion of the midsole, and where the lateral support member and the medial support member are entirely spaced apart from each other across the longitudinal axis of the sole.
