Abstract
A modular pet leash includes a magnetic attachment and one or more connectors for attaching to various accessories. The leash may be retractable by an internal spool mechanism and provide a lock mechanism for limiting a length of the leash as desired.

- a housing, the housing comprising:
- a first connector disposed in the housing
- a leash opening from which a leash is released from a spool internal to the housing.
A pet leash system, comprising:
- a housing, the housing comprising:
- one or more connectors disposed in the housing
- a leash opening from which a leash is released from a spool internal to the housing;
- a handle connectible to the one or more connectors and removable from the one or more connectors.
