Scented sleeve for animal water bowl

Abstract

Non-toxic, replace elastomeric sleeves for water bowls for domestic pets are shown and described. The sleeves have a food flavor scent composition incorporated into the matrix of the elastomer which causes the sleeves to emit a scent that is detectable by domestic pets. The scent increases the engagement of the domestic pet with the water bowl and thereby increases the domestic pets water consumption. The sleeves are removable such that when the emitted scent becomes undesirably weak, the sleeve can be replaced and re-used with the same bowl. In addition, the availability of different sleeves with scents corresponding to different food flavors allows pet owners to determine which scents are most attractive to their pets and select a sleeve that is more likely to maximize the pet's engagement with its water bowl.
