Micro-led with dummy light-emitting mesa and micro-led chip

A micro-LED with a dummy light-emitting mesa, comprising:

• a plurality of light-emitting mesas, each light-emitting mesa comprising:
• a bottom transparent conductive layer;
• a light-emitting layer;
• and
• a first epitaxial layer arranged between the bottom transparent conductive layer and the light-emitting layer;
• a second epitaxial layer arranged on the light-emitting layer, wherein the light-emitting layer is arranged between the first epitaxial layer and the second epitaxial layer and configured to emit light, and an area of an upper surface of the light-emitting mesa close to the second epitaxial layer is greater than an area of a lower surface close to the first epitaxial layer;
• and
• a passivation layer covering a lower surface and a side surface of the light-emitting mesa, wherein the light-emitting mesa comprises at least one first light-emitting mesa and at least one dummy light-emitting mesa, wherein the passivation layer on the at least one first light-emitting mesa has at least one notch to expose the bottom transparent conductive layer, and the passivation layer on the at least one dummy light-emitting mesa has no notch.
