Abstract

An apparatus that includes at least one rack having a front side, a back side, a left side and a right side, and plurality of rows each defining a shelf to house power consuming devices. The apparatus further includes at least one column of a plurality of power supply units mounted externally to the front side, the back side, the left side or the right side of the at least one rack. The at least one column of the plurality of power supply units extends along a height of the at least one rack. One or more connection components connect power output from the plurality of power supply units into individual rows of the plurality of rows of the at least one rack to supply power to power consuming devices housed in rows of the at least one rack.

An apparatus comprising:

at least one rack having a front side, a back side, a left side and a right side, and plurality of rows each defining a shelf to house power consuming devices;
at least one column of a plurality of power supply units mounted externally to the front side, the back side, the left side or the right side of the at least one rack, the at least one column of the plurality of power supply units extending along a height of the at least one rack;
and
one or more connection components to connect power output from the plurality of power supply units into individual rows of the plurality of rows of the at least one rack to supply power to power consuming devices housed in rows of the at least one rack.
