Abstract
In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The method may be performed by a management entity of a network. In certain configurations, the network allows a UE to enter a connected mode. When the UE is already in the connected mode, the network determines an unavailability period for the UE, and transmits, to the UE, a downlink message with the information of the unavailability period. The network determines the UE to be unreachable during the unavailability period.
Claims20
A method of wireless communication of a management entity of a network, comprising:
- allowing a user equipment (UE) to enter a connected mode;
- when the UE is in the connected mode, determining an unavailability period for the UE, and transmitting, to the UE, a downlink message with the information of the unavailability period;
- and
- determining the UE to be unreachable during the unavailability period.
An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a management entity of a network, comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- at least one processor coupled to the memory, the processor being configured to:
- allow a user equipment (UE) to enter a connected mode;
- when the UE is in the connected mode, determine an unavailability period for the UE, and transmit, to the UE, a downlink message with the information of the unavailability period;
- and
- activate the unavailability period for the UE, wherein the UE is determined to be unreachable in the unavailability period.
A method of wireless communication of a user equipment (UE), comprising:
- connecting to a network and entering a connected mode;
- when the UE is in the connected mode, receiving, from the network, a downlink message with information of an unavailability period;
- and
- in response to receiving the downlink message with the information of the unavailability period, activating the unavailability period.
