Abstract
Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to adaptation of procedures established for both trusted non-3GPP access and untrusted non-3GPP access. For example, network nodes (e.g., TNGF and N3IWF) can assign or generate an identifier for a UE having an anonymous SUCI as a username during the access procedure. Using the assigned identifier, the network entity can bind or associate the UE to a security key, and communications with the UE within the SNPN can be correlated.

A network entity, comprising:
- at least one memory;
- and
- at least one processor coupled with the at least one memory and configured to cause the network entity to:
- receive, from a network function, a security key for a remote device;
- assign an internet protocol (IP) address to the remote device;
- associate the security key to the IP address assigned to the remote device;
- and
- store the association of the IP address and the security key.
A method performed by a network entity, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a network function, a security key for a remote device;
- assigning an internet protocol (IP) address to the remote device;
- associating the security key to the IP address assigned to the remote device;
- and
- storing the association of the IP address and the security key.
A network entity, comprising:
- at least one memory;
- and
- at least one processor coupled with the at least one memory and configured to cause the network entity to:
- receive, from a remote device, an authentication request message;
- generate a unique identifier for the remote device;
- transmit, to the remote device, a response message that includes the unique identifier for the remote device;
- receive, from a network function, a security key for the remote device;
- associate the security key to the unique identifier assigned to the remote device;
- and
- store the association of the unique identifier and the security key.
A method performed by a network entity, the method comprising:

- generating a unique identifier for the remote device;
- transmitting, to the remote device, a response message that includes the unique identifier for the remote device;
- receiving, from a network function, a security key for the remote device;
- associating the security key to the unique identifier assigned to the remote device;
- and
- storing the association of the unique identifier and the security key.
