Abstract
A communication method includes: receiving first information, which is used for instructing to perform a configuration for a terminal to establish a PDU session used for obtaining satellite coverage information; determining a UP security protection policy based on the first information, wherein the UP security protection policy is used for instructing the PDU session to use UP integrity protection; and sending second information, wherein the second information is used for indicating the UP security protection policy.

A communication method, performed by a first network element and comprising:
- receiving first information, wherein the first information is for instructing to perform a configuration for a terminal to establish a packet data unit (PDU) session for obtaining satellite coverage information;
- determining a user plane (UP) security protection policy based on the first information, wherein the UP security protection policy is for instructing the PDU session to use UP integrity protection;
- and
- sending second information, wherein the second information indicates the UP security protection policy.
A communication method, performed by a second network element and comprising:
- sending first information, wherein the first information is for instructing to perform a configuration for a terminal to establish a packet data unit (PDU) session for obtaining satellite coverage information;
- and
- receiving second information, wherein the second information indicates a user plane (UP) security protection policy, wherein the UP security protection policy is for instructing the PDU session to use UP integrity protection.

A communication method, performed by a core network device, wherein the core network device comprises a first network element and a second network element, and the method comprises:
- sending, by the second network element, first information to the first network element, wherein the first information is for instructing to perform a configuration for a terminal to establish a packet data unit (PDU) session for obtaining satellite coverage information, wherein the PDU session is a PDU session between the terminal and an access network device;
- determining, by the first network element, a user plane (UP) security protection policy based on the first information, wherein the UP security protection policy is for instructing the PDU session to use UP integrity protection;
- and
- sending, by the first network element, second information to the second network element, wherein the second information indicates the UP security protection policy.
